I got a call from the NJC general office this morning while i was asleep, and my first thought was "WTF?" cos the last time i got a call from them was when i left my IC at the maths promos exam venue. thankfully though, this time the clerk bore good news. i've been accepted by NTU H3 contemporary physics! haha, a huge sigh of relief there, i got quite worried when i didnt receive the letter yesterday. i wonder why NTU suddenly changed their procedure to send the letter to the school instead of to us personally? i tried asking the clerk on the phone, but she sounded a bit impatient so i didnt probe. guess it's a universal truth that nobody likes to work in a completely empty school at 9.30 in the morning. and that's right, my lazy ass was still in bed at 9.30am on a tuesday, cos it's the holidays and i can do anything i want. xiao lan also made it, and there's this other guy who put contemporary physics as his second/third choice i think, who i've never met, who also got in. i cant remember a lot of other names off the bat, but congrats to josias who made it for SMU game theory, and to jerrell who amazingly applied and got accepted by 2 courses. wonder if he's gonna stick to one or go for both... wow, with 2 H3s and being president of PA, he could be well on his way for president's scholarship... which would make me an acquaintance of a president's scholar! haha, a perfect target for riding coat-tails :)
the 4A outing is finally taking form! excited to see all those long-lost classmates again, but at the same time i feel quite guilty for not doing anything thus far in the planning and organising stages. i think all the heavy lifting so far has been done by bryan, melvin, zhaoming and ms loi (it never ceases to amaze me how we've actually managed to get back in contact with ms loi!). well, i'll try to help out on the actual day, but just so you know i failed the cooking part of home econs; epic failed, in fact. i think it was supposed to be a quiche if i remember correctly, but it came out half-cooked and in a tin foil bowl (cos i forgot to bring cutlery -.-). aaaand im not very good at fire-starting either, so if any of you guys need generic-heavy-object-ish kind of help, i'll gladly offer my services, cos probably the only thing i can do in bbqs is to sit down somewhere.
